The world lost Wyatt to suicide in 2020 - far too soon, at the age of 14. He was silently struggling, not wanting to share, not wanting to appear weak and suffered alone as a result. We wish he had shared with us, with anyone, so we could have helped. However, we did not get that chance.
The pain of losing anyone to suicide is horrific. For us, losing our son Wyatt is what we feel is the worst possible loss in the universe, and pretty sure his brother feels the same about losing Wyatt.
While we cannot bring Wyatt back, we can do something. For us, our hope is to help educate today’s youth and their parents about suicide – to be aware of possible signs, what to do if noticed, where to go for help, that there is help and they are not alone. We created the Wyatt A. Lee Memorial Foundation so we can provide resources to our community to achieve this. With education to our youths and their families about suicide prevention and mental health awareness, we believe we can make a difference and save others from the pain we have and continue to endure.
Suicide is 100% preventable, yet it is currently the 12th leading cause of death in the United States with suicide being the second-leading cause of death amongst young adults. We are committed to reducing, and hopefully eliminating suicide.
Thank you for your support! Please remember, you matter, you are loved, you mean the world to many, you are not alone, and your existence makes someone else’s day.
